The fourth annual Internet Governance Forum (IGF) was held from 15-18 November 2009 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. Excerpts of the reports of the EA-IGF 2009 were presented and discussed during this annual meeting.

EA at the 4th IGF

The 2009 East Africa Internet Governance Forum (EA-IGF) was held in Nairobi, Kenya starting from 7th to 9th September. The meeting held at Jacaranda hotel was sponsored by Kenya ICT  Action Network (KICTANet) and Kenya Network Information Centre (KENIC), attracting an estimate of 140 participants. The theme of the forum was "thinking globaly, acting localy". 

The Kenya ICT community working with the Chair of Kenya's Parliamentary Committee on Energy, Communication and Information organized  the inaugural EA-IGF for Parliamentarians (EA-IGF4P) that took place on September 9, 2009 at Norfolk hotel in Nairobi, Kenya. The  session hosted by  the Kenya minister for Information and Communication Technology Hon. Samuel Porgishio was held immediately after the 2009 EA-IGF and attracted Members of Parliament from East Africa.
